Softball Recap: South Umpqua Drops Season-High Score on Coquille

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Umpqua). They put the hurt on the Coquille Red Devils with a sharp 18-0 win on Thursday. The Lancers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five contests.

South Umpqua is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Coquille, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

South Umpqua will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Devils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
