Basketball Recap: Oxford Wins Going Away Against Grenada

Oxford posted their biggest win since November 7th on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Grenada Chargers with a sharp 67-42 victory. Given Oxford's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Grenada is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Grenada still got an impressive performance from Travis Wilks, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Oxford is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Grenada, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Oxford will take on Calhoun City in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grenada and Winona will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
