The St. Edward Green Wave will head out on the road to take on the Wheaton Academy Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
St. Edward is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Christian Liberty an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. With that win, the Green Wave brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Kendall Pemberton was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Pemberton was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alaina Nolan, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Francesca Buono, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
St. Edward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wheaton Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Green Wave. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Moriah Husted was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emily From, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Wheaton Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for St. Edward, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
St. Edward suffered a grim 15-6 defeat to Wheaton Academy in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
