Baseball Recap: Pearce Mustangs vs. Martin Warriors

Pearce extended their postseason success on Saturday against Martin. They had just enough and edged the Martin Warriors out 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for Pearce.

Degan Kubat looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Pearce let Vince Villegas and Levi Rozenblum loose on the outfield. Villegas scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Rozenblum went 1-for-1 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. Another player making a difference was Tyler Sessions, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

On Martin's side, Logan Baresh was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Romel Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Pearce is on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 23 games, which provided a nice bump to their 27-16 record this season. As for Martin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-14-1.
