Basketball Game Preview: Jones County Greyhounds vs. Union Grove Wolverines

Jones County is 1-9 against Union Grove since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jones County Greyhounds are taking a road trip to challenge the Union Grove Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jones County comes in on 12 and Union Grove on five.

On Tuesday, Jones County was fully in charge, breezing past Eagle's Landing Christian Academy 62-35. The Greyhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Union Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ola on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly five points.

Union Grove pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Jones County, their record now sits at 13-1.

Jones County came up short against Union Grove in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 40-36. Can Jones County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
