Softball Recap: Roosevelt Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Roosevelt proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Grant Generals 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Roughriders have posted since May 1, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Annabella Murphy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Zulaykha Armstrachan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Grant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.
