Baseball Game Preview: Riverside Academy Rebels vs. Ascension Catholic Bulldogs

After both having extra time off, the Riverside Academy Rebels and the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Riverside Academy 3.9, Ascension Catholic 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Riverside Academy's win against Bourgeois wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels skirted past the Braves 3-2.

Meanwhile, Ascension Catholic has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit two weeks ago. They lost 10-0 to Dunham. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Riverside Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-12. As for Ascension Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-11.

Riverside Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Ascension Catholic when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
