Basketball Recap: Eustis Victorious

Eustis won the last time they faced South Lake and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eustis Panthers slipped by the South Lake Eagles 52-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

It was another big night for Timothy Key, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lomar Sparrow, who posted eight points and three steals.

South Lake lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Pina, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Pina's ninth in a row with at least ten points. John Rowe was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Eustis' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. As for South Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Eustis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-30 win against Mount Dora on the 9th. As for South Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-45 defeat against Lake Minneola on the 10th.
