Football Recap: Burroughs Bears vs. Pasadena Bulldogs
Burroughs extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They took a blow against the Pasadena Bulldogs, falling 54-14. The Bears lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 24-7 score last time.
Despite the loss, Burroughs still got an impressive performance from Sho Fujita, who rushed for 167 yards, and also picked up 34 receiving yards.
As for Pasadena, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Dutch Burbidge was his usual excellent self, throwing for 313 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 49 yards and a pair of TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Pasadena's leading receiver Damari Pitts was Burbidge's top target yet again, picking up 113 receiving yards and one score.
Burroughs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 41-33 win against Arcadia on the 25th. As for Pasadena, they have also already played their next game, a 41-0 victory against Glendale on the 25th.
