Football Game Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Lapeer Lightning + How To Watch

The Heritage Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Lapeer Lightning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Heritage is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight games dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Davison, falling 63-42. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Cardinals are ranked ninth).

Heritage's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braedyn Boell, who threw for 293 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and Steven Rodriguez Jr, who picked up 171 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lapeer). They took down Carman-Ainsworth 47-28 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lightning.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lapeer, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Heritage came out on top in a nail-biter against Lapeer in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, sneaking past 10-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
