Baseball Recap: Ridgeview Comes Up Short

Ridgeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 7-3 to the Clay Blue Devils. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Ridgeview got a good showing from Chance Crawford, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Crawford has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ridgeview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Torres, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI. Tyson Brown also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Ridgeview's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Clay, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.

Coming up, Ridgeview will face off against Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Clay, they will head out to challenge Keystone Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
