Basketball Recap: Christian Chandler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pretty Prairie over Oxford

Pretty Prairie lost against Oxford back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pretty Prairie Bulldogs might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Oxford Wildcats an easy 77-53 win.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Chandler, who made all 6 shots he took for 13 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Chandler a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Evan W Young, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Pretty Prairie's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Oxford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Pretty Prairie will venture away from home to take on Bucklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pretty Prairie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. As for Oxford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Attica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
