The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither De Anza nor Saint Mary made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Dons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 10-9. The Dons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

De Anza let Ian Garcia and Zion Shott run wild. Garcia went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Shott went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave Shott a new career-high. Chad Oakley also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

De Anza moved to 2-10-1 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Saint Mary's, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat De Anza by a score of 8-7 on Thursday.
