Softball Recap: South Ripley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Switzerland County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Milan, South Ripley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 19-16 win over the Switzerland County Pacers. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Julia Hilton and Kelly Lohrum did most of the damage at the plate: Hilton went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI, while Lohrum went 3-for-6 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Hilton has posted since back in April of 2024. Taylor Jordan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Ripley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

South Ripley's record is now 4-10. As for Switzerland County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

South Ripley has already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Jac-Cen-Del on the 7th. As for Switzerland County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 22-19 loss against Austin on the 7th.
