After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Meigs County, McMinn Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over the Scott Highlanders. The Chargers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of McMinn Central's win came down to the chemistry between Bryce Mullins and his top target Jamez Moss. Mullins threw for 221 yards and three TDs while Moss picked up 87 receiving yards and one score. Those 87 receiving yards gave Moss a new career-high.

McMinn Central didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Scott to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. The Chargers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 53.3%.

McMinn Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kate Myers and Samuel Miller.

When it comes to explaining why Scott lost, don't look at Michael Bond. Despite the final result, he rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

The victory got McMinn Central back to even at 2-2. As for Scott, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McMinn Central will welcome Cumberland County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Scott, they will be playing at home against Cumberland Gap at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
