Baseball Recap: Bishop Guilfoyle Comes Up Short

Bishop Guilfoyle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils. If the Marauders were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bishop Guilfoyle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bellwood-Antis, they moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Guilfoyle will face off against Bald Eagle Area at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will welcome Chestnut Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
