Eastlake is 8-2 against Franklin since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Falcons will head out to face off against the Cougars at 9:00 a.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Eastlake and Montwood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Falcons fell just short of the Rams by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly two runs.

Camila Tovar made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Charley Solis, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Franklin was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 16-0 to Socorro.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-19-1.

Franklin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastlake has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Franklin, though, as they've been averaging 11 hits. Given Eastlake's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.

Eastlake was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
