Recap: Dohn Community Panthers vs. St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders
This season hasn't been kind to The Dohn Community Panthers, who are still winless after their eighth match. They suffered a rough 50-24 defeat at the hands of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute on Saturday. Dohn Community was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute was led to victory by Nolan Klein and Giorgio Panepinto. Klein threw for 58 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, while Panepinto rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Daniel Mucica was in the mix too, providing St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute with two touchdowns.
Dohn Community's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Columbus Crusaders and 6-3 McDowell (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.9% over those games). As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Dohn Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute will be playing at home against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Timon-St. Jude is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
