Camp Verde hasn't had much luck against Scottsdale Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cowboys will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Camp Verde sitting on seven straight victories and Scottsdale Christian Academy on 15 (dating back to last season).
Camp Verde's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Chino Valley, posting a 50-0 win. Considering the Cowboys have won six matchups by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Justin Smith was his usual excellent self, rushing for 101 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Brayden Walsworth was another key player, throwing for 137 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Scottsdale Christian Academy was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Phoenix Christian by a score of 41-34. Scottsdale Christian Academy's victory was all the more impressive since the Cougars were averaging only 11.25 points allowed on the season.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Camp Verde will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sean Helgeson, who threw for 208 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards. Isaiah Steffen did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 88 receiving yards.
Scottsdale Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayce Reeter and Dom Dickerson. Dickerson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Camp Verde's record now sits at 7-1. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, their record is now 8-0.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Walsworth and Helgeson. Walsworth just won't slow down this season and has thrown 19 touchdowns (and and only 1 picks) while averaging 171.1 passing yards per game. Helgeson has been a dominant force too and has thrown 25 touchdowns (and and only 2 pick) while averaging 206.6 passing yards per game.
Camp Verde suffered a grim 54-34 defeat to Scottsdale Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in August of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cowboys were down 34-14.
