The Roosevelt Rough Riders will face off against the Ellet Orangement at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
On Tuesday, Roosevelt didn't have quite enough to beat Revere and fell 7-6.
Emelia Gates was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Lily Robb, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ellet, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Firestone get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Orangement have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Keyli Myers and Riley Kearns did most of the damage at the plate: Myers went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Kearns went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerra Eiseman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Ellet kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Ellet's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Roosevelt hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Ellet struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Roosevelt might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Ellet in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rough Riders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
