Floyd County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carroll County Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Zach Turpin put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.

In other batting news, Adam Petty was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Floyd County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Carroll County, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
