Volleyball Recap: Bucklin Beats South Central for Their Third Straight Victory

Bucklin waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the South Central Timberwolves. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win last Tuesday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Bucklin who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 17-25, 25-22.

Karlee Evans paced Bucklin's offense, picking up 14 kills. Evans got some help from Emmerson Kirk and her 30 assists. Finally, Evans was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Bucklin's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for South Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bucklin is set to face off against their familiar foe Hodgeman County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, South Central will square off against rival Ashland on Saturday.
