Softball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. Pisgah Bears

Franklin is 8-2 against Pisgah since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Franklin Panthers will be playing at home against the Pisgah Bears at 5:30 p.m. Neither Franklin nor Pisgah posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Wednesday, Franklin came up short against Enka and fell 6-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Jets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Suzanna Cabe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Franklin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jozy Dehart, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pisgah's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Wednesday. They fell just short of West Henderson by a score of 4-2. The loss was the Bears' first of the season.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pisgah, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Franklin beat Pisgah 4-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Franklin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pisgah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
