Basketball Recap: Hoffman Estates Victorious

There's no place like home for Hoffman Estates, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They pulled ahead with a 45-44 photo finish over the Elmwood Park Tigers on Monday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Tigers are ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoffman Estates' win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Elmwood Park, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoffman Estates has already played their next match (against Conant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Elmwood Park will venture away from home to face off against Fenton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fenton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
