Basketball Recap: West Philadelphia Takes a Loss

After soaring to 56 points the game before, West Philadelphia was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 48-20 loss at the hands of the Executive Education Academy Charter School Raptors. The Speedboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-11.

Despite the defeat, West Philadelphia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kashay Ryder posted ten points. Ryder is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

West Philadelphia's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Executive Education Academy Charter School, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

West Philadelphia will host Paul Robeson at 3:15 p.m. on February 6th. Executive Education Academy Charter School has already played their next game, a 39-33 defeat against Allentown Central Catholic on the 31st.
