Volleyball Recap: Gibbon Comes Up Short

Gibbon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against Elm Creek, falling 3-0. Gibbon was not able to make up for their defeat to Elm Creek from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 25-8.

Cove Fries paced Gibbon's offense, picking up six kills. Fries got some help from Claire Clark and her ten assists.

Gibbon's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Elm Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Gibbon has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Sandhills/Thedford on the 11th. As for Elm Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Wilcox-Hildreth on the 13th.
