Softball Recap: Orchard Park Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Orchard Park walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Horseheads Blue Raiders on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Quakers, who have now won six contests in a row.

Ava Farina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Hernandez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. McKenzie McCann was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Orchard Park's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Horseheads, they moved to 16-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Orchard Park nor the Blue Raiders have any future games scheduled.
