Recap: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. La Costa Canyon Mavericks
The Torrey Pines Falcons fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against La Costa Canyon by a score of 27-17 on Friday. This was payback for Torrey Pines, who suffered a 32-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading Torrey Pines to victory were Lukas Tu and Jake Sweeney. Tu threw for 56 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, while Sweeney rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown. Sweeney was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards.
Torrey Pines' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.8 points per game. As for La Costa Canyon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Torrey Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. La Costa Canyon also has no future games currently scheduled.
