Basketball Recap: Gaither Cowboys vs. Riverview Sharks        
        
		
            
 The Gaither Cowboys had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They strolled past Riverview with  points to spare, taking the game  74-56. Given Gaither's advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings  (they are ranked 272nd, while the Sharks are ranked 678th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Gaither had a senior duo take command as  Marc Fransberg  scored 16 points and  Rico Kindred  scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was  Dante Sanchez, who  scored seven points.
 Despite the loss, Riverview still got an impressive performance from   Bryson Kearney, who  scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Kearney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Elijah Gilroy, who  scored seven points.
 Gaither has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Riverview, they are  on a six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-16.
 Gaither won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against the Wolves at 6:30  p.m.  on January 30th. As for Riverview, they won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against the Hawks at 8:00  p.m.  on January 30th. Armwood is on  a six-game streak of home losses, the Sharks a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
