Basketball Game Preview: Barr-Reeve Vikings vs. South Spencer Rebels

The Barr-Reeve Vikings will challenge the South Spencer Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Barr-Reeve is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Barr-Reeve was able to grind out a solid win over Springs Valley, taking the game 57-45. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Blackhawks are ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barr-Reeve got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Wagler out in front who went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Jake Pauw was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Barr-Reeve smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, South Spencer didn't have quite enough to beat Wood Memorial on Saturday and fell 55-53.

Barr-Reeve now has a winning record of 5-4. As for South Spencer, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-5.
