Softball Recap: Aloha Find Success

Aloha came out on top against Mountainside on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Warriors walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Mavericks. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chiyori Brumley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Sweatman, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Dimeo, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Aloha kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Aloha's record is now 9-7. As for Mountainside, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Coming up, Aloha will face off against La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountainside, they will square off against Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
