Royalton-Hartland has gone 8-2 against Akron recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 4:45 p.m. Akron took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Royalton-Hartland, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Royalton-Hartland needed a bit of extra time to put away Oakfield-Alabama. They blew past the Hornets 13-7. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Sean Mettler was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Mettler was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evan Poeller was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Will Bundrock, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Royalton-Hartland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Akron's offense. They fell 3-0 to Medina on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.
Royalton-Hartland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Akron, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Royalton-Hartland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Akron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Royalton-Hartland beat Akron 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
