Volleyball Recap: Providence Comes Up Short

Providence saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Basha Bears. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Basha's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chelsea Mayhead, who had six assists and three aces. That's the most aces Mayhead has posted over her last six matches.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Basha, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Providence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Bishop Amat on the 26th. As for Basha, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Mayfield on the 27th.
