Baseball Recap: Brentwood Takes a Loss

If Brentwood was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Brashear on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 10-0 to the Serra Catholic Eagles on Wednesday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Brentwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Serra Catholic, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Brentwood will take on Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flames have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.71 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Serra Catholic, they will challenge Riverview at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Raiders won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
