Basketball Recap: Fort Dorchester Find Success

On Monday, the Fort Dorchester Patriots earned a 31-22 win over the Laurens Raiders.

Fort Dorchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Laurens still got an impressive performance from Zoe Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Young has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keyorie Yeargin, who earned three points and six rebounds.

The victory got Fort Dorchester back to even at 7-7. As for Laurens, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Fort Dorchester wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-11 win against Woodland on the 4th. As for Laurens, they will face off against Southside at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th.
