Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Gets the Win

Roosevelt's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the King Wolves by a score of 10-7. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Joaquin Casillas looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Roosevelt: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two hits, but 5-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Roosevelt got a big performance out of Connor Gauthier, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Gauthier has posted since back in March. Lucas Cozzitarto was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for King, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Roosevelt beat King by a score of 11-4 on Wednesday.
