Football Recap: Brick Township Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brick Township extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 34-14 to the Manasquan Warriors. Despite 109 more yards than the Warriors, the Green Dragons couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Brick Township lost, don't look at James Hirtes. Despite the final result, he rushed for 110 yards and one TD, and also threw for 165 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Hirtes is now averaging an impressive 100.6 rushing yards per game.

As for Manasquan, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games.

Ace Etienne was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 183 yards and three scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brick Township will welcome Manchester Township at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Dragons will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Manasquan, they will square off against Colts Neck at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
