Baseball Recap: Brentwood Academy Comes Up Short

Brentwood Academy was the 3-1 winner over Montgomery Bell Academy when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Red on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Will Rooney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Brentwood Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 4-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Hull, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Brentwood Academy dropped their record down to 8-16 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, their record is now 11-13.

Looking ahead, Brentwood Academy will venture away from home to challenge Ensworth at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Montgomery Bell Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
