Basketball Recap: Pahokee Blue Devils vs. Fort Meade Miners
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pahokee can now relate to. They came up short against the Fort Meade Miners on Wednesday, falling 58-38. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.
Omari Russell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fort Meade, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Russell has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Nasier Berrien was another key player, putting up 17 points.
Pahokee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Fort Meade, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
