Softball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Takes a Loss

Academy for Academic Excellence lost against Riverside Prep last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights lost 14-4 to the Silver Knights. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dayleen De Los Cuetos was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Victoria McGowan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Academy for Academic Excellence now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for Riverside Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Academy for Academic Excellence will face off against rival Excelsior Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Riverside Prep is set to challenge their familiar foe University Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silver Knights are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Jaguars a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
