Softball Recap: Ross Rams vs. Edgewood Cougars
Ross won the last time they faced Edgewood and things went their way on Monday too. The Rams blew past the Cougars 7-1. Considering the Rams have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Paige Baker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Meadow Webb was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Juilianne Combs, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Edgewood, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ross will welcome Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edgewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.2 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
