Baseball Recap: Intermountain Christian Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Intermountain Christian entered their tilt with Wendover on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Wildcats 16-4. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Coy White made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, Caleb Furze was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Smith, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Intermountain Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Wendover, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Intermountain Christian will face off against Freedom Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.8 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wendover, they will head out to face off against Tintic at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
