Basketball Recap: Matawan Regional Comes Up Short

Matawan Regional and Red Bank Regional squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Matawan Regional had to settle for second. They took a hard 64-48 fall against the Red Bank Regional Bucs. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Bucs are ranked 28th).

Matawan Regional has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. The victory was the fifth in a row for Red Bank Regional, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

As of now, neither Matawan Regional nor Red Bank Regional have any future games scheduled.
