It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Howland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Salem Quakers 6-5. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Quakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Richie Ansel was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Deacon Mock was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Howland's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Salem, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howland will challenge Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem, they will square off against South Range at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Quakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
