Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Lions vs. Amity Warriors

The Jefferson Lions will challenge the Amity Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Jefferson sitting on ten straight victories and Amity on 14.

Jefferson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Taft, posting a 72-44 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Amity over Willamina in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Amity blew Willamina out of the water with a 68-27 final score. The Warriors is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the ten matchup they've won by 20+ points or more this season.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Amity, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.

Jefferson was dealt a bruising 71-39 defeat at the hands of Amity when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
