Softball Recap: Glenbrook North Comes Up Short

Glenbrook North blew Highland Park out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Highland Park got their revenge. The Spartans fell just short of the Giants by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 4th.

This is the second loss in a row for Glenbrook North and nudges their season record down to 12-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Highland Park, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenbrook North will venture away from home to square off against Amundsen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Highland Park, they will head out to challenge Lake Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Giants will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Scouts will have lost five straight heading into Friday's matchup.
