Football Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-6. They had to suffer through a 52-16 loss at the hands of the South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies. That's two games in a row now that the Bluestreaks have lost by exactly 36 points.

As for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.8 points this season.

South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville had a senior duo take command as George Bailey rushed for 124 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries and Brodey Vanhooser rushed for 66 yards and a pair of scores. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 58 yards.

As of now, neither Martinsville nor South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville have any future games scheduled.
