Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Trinity Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles as they made off with an 11-2 win. The Gryphons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Brody Frank made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Isaac Norman was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. He has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Ethan Tiede was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Trinity Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fredericksburg Christian only managed five hits.

Trinity Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13-1 record this season.

Trinity Christian is taking a road trip to face off against NOVA HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they will head out to take on Steward at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
