Hayfield waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Falls Church Jaguars with a sharp 8-2 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-0 win two weeks ago.

Nolan Taylor looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Bueno, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Suga, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Hayfield pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Falls Church, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
