Basketball Recap: Billy Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hooper Bay over Akiachak

After flying high against Nenana two weeks ago, Hooper Bay came back down to earth. The Hooper Bay Warriors came up short against the Akiachak Huskies on Friday, falling 88-63.

Hooper Bay lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Billy Smith, who posted 21 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Thomas Smith, who had 20 points.

Hooper Bay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Akiachak, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

As of now, neither Hooper Bay nor Akiachak have any future games scheduled.
